Colleen McDermott
Colleen McDermott is a 18-year-old senior from Apex, North Carolina. Colleen started competitive Irish dancing at the age of four, traveling across the globe to places like Scotland and Ireland with her talents and placing in the Top 5 regionally and nationally.
She started her journey within the Miss America Opportunity at age 14, and has since then held the titles of Miss Moore County's Teen, Miss Johnston County's Teen, and Miss Garner's Teen after placing first and second runner-up at MNCTeen winning preliminary talent awards and around $10,000 in college scholarships. Colleen also is the founder of the nonprofit Planet Youth, as well as a podcast host and children's book author and illustrator.
Love The Earth
Love Earth shares the story of a unique pen-pal friendship between Phoebe, a sweet little girl, and Planet Earth. In writing to one another, Phoebe learns everything she can do to help keep Earth green and clean. Love Earth creates awareness for caring for the environment and is the perfect story to help young children learn what they can do to help keep the Earth green. Love Earth coloring book is a fun and educational activity book created as a companion piece to the original Love Earth children's book. The Love Earth book and Love Earth coloring book were created by teenager Colleen McDermott as a way to help educate the youth of today on the importance of caring for the environment.
